Conasprella orbignyi, common name Orbigny's (false) cone, is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Conidae, the cone snails and their allies.[1]
Like all species within the genus Conus, these snails are predatory and venomous. They are capable of "stinging" humans; therefore, live ones should be handled carefully or not at all.
There is one subspecies: Conus orbignyi elokismenos Kilburn, 1975 (invalid synonym: Conus orbignyi aratus Kilburn, 1973).[2] This subspecies is considered a species in the World Register of Marine Species as Conus elokismenos Kilburn, 1975.[3]
